Like the subject suggests, I would like to merge my two backends into one, but the major concern is how, if ever possible, to have two instances of lirc to be able to control two serial IR blaster for both HDPVR. Can I use a two head USB blaster ? anyone has success with Linhes 7.2? Suggestions are very welcome.

Thanks!

What are you using for source? Perhaps there is another way. My Starchoice/Shaw Direct and my brothers Bell Expressvu boxes can change the remote address allowing you to control both boxes independently with one blaster. I don't have a dual blaster setup, but am working on adding a second sat box for a second tuner but haven't got there yet.

I used a CommandIR II (http://www.commandir.com/) to control two IR blasters on the same backend. It worked well, and there is documentation on the site.

I am using Videotron as a provider, I used to have expressvu and had the option of changing the frequency of the remote from A to B (or similar) on one of the receivers. This provider does not give me this option unfortunately. One of the receivers has a firewire port on it, but I was never sucessful with a channel changing script on it. This was back in R6, now that I think of it, I may give this a try again...

Thanks hari, I will give this CommandiR a look.

For those interested, commandIR III works out of the box with Linhes. It has 1 IR in 4 blasters, it works like a charm.
