Post subject:  VDPAU Setting for ASUS 210

I installed the Asus 210 in an HP7600DC and then installed R8. I followed the VDPAU setup instructions:

http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/VDPAU#Enabling_VDPAU_in_MythFrontend

I have tried various settings, including:
* VDPAU High Quality
* VDPAU Normal (current setting)
* VDPAU Slim

Top shows a significant decrease in CPU usage during video playback (<6%) and HD video is played, but there at times the pixelation gets ugly.

Before moving on to troubleshooting, does it make sense to stick with VDPAU Normal? Does it make any difference that the test file is a .mkv (vs .avi or .mp4)?

What version of the nvidia drivers are you running?
Code:
pacman -Qs nvidia

VDPAU is very mature and stable. The container (mkv, mp4, avi) doesn't matter. What matters is the video format (ffh264vdpau,ffmpeg12vdpau,ffwmv3vdpau,ffvc1vdpau).

What is your video card (model)? I can't tell from the description. (Hint: `nvidia-smi -L`)

The 210 can't handle the deinterlacing of the VDPAU High Quality setting. Stick with VDPAU Normal.
