Sound can really make or break your system. If you have to set something ever time it boots it can be a real bummer.

Lately I've been trying to home in on what speakers to use on my frontend. I tried hdmi and creative sbs550 and they work but not quite what I want.

So i moved my Logitech Z-5 usb speakers to try on the R8 frontend . Sound wise I like them but everytime my system boots it says

ALSA Unknown hardware "Guessing"

So ALSA can't figure out what exactly is are Logitech Z-5 USB speakers.and I have to set alsamaster every time or the sound it way too low.

So here is what to do about it

Code:
alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state store

Now it works fine!!!

I think you can simply run the following:
Code:
alsactl store
