I am running R6 and things went very bad last week. On reboot, the drive had many errors and upon fixing those I had lost all of my saved shows. I got the machine working but it recorded ~2,500 0 byte shows in one day. A reboot has seemed to fix that but I am at a loss on how to get rid of all of these shows from the database. Can anyone help me get rid of these faster than deleting them one at a time? |

Search for "myth.find_orphans.pl" which is designed for cleaning up situations like this. |

Perfect. I found it in /usr/share/mythtv/contrib/ and it deleted all 2580 recordings in a few seconds. Thank you for the help. You have saved me. |

I ran this on KM 5.5. and it helped clean up around a hundred orphans caused by a DB crash & rebuild. However an exploratory run on my LH 6.07 machine returns this: Code: [root@mythbox101 contrib]# /usr/share/mythtv/contrib/myth.find_orphans.pl
DBI connect('database=mythconverg:host=mythbox101','mythtv',...) failed: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'mythbox101' (111) at /usr/share/mythtv/contrib/myth.find_orphans.pl line 99 Cannot connect to database mythconverg on host mythbox101: Any hints on actions to try ? (The machine is working normally, with no database issues that I know of....) |
