I could use some help getting a WinTV-HVR850 working.

I am doing a clean install of R6.02 from CD. I'm trying to pick up normal ATSC signals from my antenna. I know the antenna source works because I can plug it into a TV and watch programs.

During setup, under 2. Capture Cards, I select New Capture Card. The only card type that has some probed information with it is DVB DTV capture card (v3.x), so that's the one I choose.
Code:
DVB Device Number:  /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
Frontend ID:  Auvitek AU8522 QAM/Subtype ATSC

Next in step 3, I choose a new video source
Code:
Video Sourcename:  antenna
Grabber:  Schedules Direct

I type in my username and password, hit Retrieve Lineups, and it returns my correct Data Direct lineup. The Channel Frequency table is "default", which was set to "us-bcast" in step 1. General

Next comes step 4 Input Connections (DVBInput) -> (None)
I choose Video Source: antenna and notice in the background Xterm window:
Code:
DiSEqCDevTree, Warning: No device tree for cardid 1

I push the Scan for Channels button and it fails to find any channels. The "scan" window has these settings:
Code:
Video source:  antenna
Input:  (DVBInput)
Desired Services:  TV, Free Only
Scan Type:  Full Scan
Freq Table:  Broadcast
Modulation:  Terrestrial (8-VSB)
Range:  2 -> 83

All 82 channels say Timed Out, no signal.

I look back in the Xterm window and find this message repeated five times:

Code:
DVBChan(1:/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0) Error: Tune(): Setting Frontend tuning parameters failed.  eno: Invalid argument (22)

followed by a single:
Code:
ChanImport:  No channels to process...

I appreciate any help someone has to offer.

PS. I had to transcribe a lot of messages in this post. If you see something that doesn't look right, it might be my typing.

I was able to find channels by setting Signal Timeout (msec) and Tuning Timeout (msec) to 10000 in the window that defines the new DVB capture card.
