Post subject:  [SOLVED]Startup issue with backend in R6.02

Upon startup mythfrontend tell me this error in a popup box:
Quote:
Could not connect ot the master backend server -- Is it running? Is the OP address set for it in the setup program correct?

I am assuming the setup program they are referring to is mythtv-setup.
So, if I click ok, and check the processes running mythbackend is running. When I go to watch a recorded show or live tv, it works. What does this error mean?? do i need to add/change a line in /etc/hosts??
(btw. the general settings in the mythtv-setup are my local IP address)
I also looked at the backend log and there were no errors reported.

On a slightly related note I get this error when I try to access mythweb:
Code:
    errornum:  256
  error type:  User Error
error string:  MasterServerIP or MasterServerPort not found! You mayneed to check your settings.php file or re-run mythtv-setup
    filename:  /data/srv/httpd/htdocs/mythweb/classes/MythBackend.php
  error line:  45

After looking around the internet I see this:http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/7557#comment:3
I tried changing settings to get_backend_settings like it said, but that did not fix the problem. Is this related to the above mentioned problem?

Try this out and see if it helps.

Is this only after rebooting? If so it's probably the same as what I reported here, where the frontend is done starting up before the backend is. It's just an annoyance more than anything else. Thought I'd opened a flyspray ticket on it but I can't find one. I meant to.

If it's not just bootup though then it's something else.

Unfortunately that did not help. I still get the error message with 5 tries every 5 seconds (but not on every boot, but most).
This does not seem to have any effect on the mythweb problem.

Well...I tried the link that i mentioned again for my problem, and this time it worked out just fine. So, considering that this is an "annoying" but known problem and since mythweb is working now, I am marking this as solved. Thanks for your help.
