Recently installed from the latest ISO download...LinHES...did the upgrades...
Not sure how to see what version I've got...probably not the 6.3 yet.

Found some posts on using packman to install for commercial DVDs...The 3rd Service Window (nada)...did the pacman -S lib* stuff...

Rebooted...

I am missing something, as when I put the put the DVD in...the blue screen goes completely blue...or before, was logging me out to the Yellow background window...

Then pop out the dvd, press Alt+M and the main screen is back.

It's all so hush hush about how to do this...Google is not being the good friend it used to be.

Can someone give me a wink-wink, nudge-nudge....know what I mean, what I mean. eh, eh?

Thank you.

Tried another DVD...and it works...

However, making an ISO does not work (Or, the ISO's are created, just can't watch them). Have read up on it...tried changing the mplayer settings to open DVD Iso video images...added new file type iso.

Browsing for video files shows nothing, though.

Mplayer will open the image with mplayer condor.iso when exiting and Alt-x, but it is playing a mile a minute.

So, tried to rip the DVD with medium settings...and now...still nothing in watch video menu section...

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hmm... try it manually with "mplayer -dvd-device=/myth/video/<yourDVD>.iso dvd://"

bterrier, when you're browsing for iso files and see no files hit "m" and you should see the Video Display Menu. Select Scan For Changes and your new files should show up.
I think I worked this out from
