HI,

1. If I goto hulu.com in mythbrowser I can't quit. Escape takes me to a bookmark screen, but I can't leave that screen.

2. The cursor disappears, which makes browsing difficult.

Any suggestions? hints?

Thanks!

Maybe it has to do with flash?

Would firefox be better? I think there is a way to change from the internal webkit browser to firefox.

Hulu desktop seems to be missing shows that I can see from a web browser, fyi. That is why I am trying to use a broswer. Also the subtitles work in a browser, but not hulu desktop.

There is a setting to do this. Not sure where it is in the menu but it's certainly in the database.

I would just log in to the database and change it in there.

There is a setting to set the mouse cursor to disappear or not. It's in the mythtv setup menu under general I believe but what I have found more helpful is two things one
ctl alt u unhides the mouse cursor for you.
and second is this post http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... highlight=

Thanks!

Flash is a problem.

With the web mythfrontend setup for /usr/bin/firefox.bin %URL%, the mythfrontend will launch its bookmarks, but if one tries for have flash use full screen it crashes firefox :<(

Firefox currently seems to work best if I quit mythfrontend, at least with flash.

The 'internal' -- not 'Internal' webkit browser has a problem quitting, pkill xinit seems the only way.

I have flash working on mine. It's LinHES 6.03 and it will do full screen, so it's definitely possible.

If it were happening to my machine, I would start firefox from an xterm and duplicate the problem. Crash errors should then be printed on the terminal.

try reinstalling firefox and flash to the newest versions
do a
Code:
sudo pacman -Sy firefox flashplugin

and it will install the shiretoko (firefox) to launch firefox hit alt w (as in web browser)
escape usually gets you out of full screen flash mode F11 puts firefox in to a menubarless mode
give it a shot

First, thanks for helping.

Next, I was wrong about the Huludesktop, it has captions but they are turned off. There are many features which can be turned on and off.

I downloaded the Ubuntu 32 bit deb and put it in /tmp, then did an install_hulu.sh command. It upgraded it, BUT set the volume to 0. I thought it broke sound output, but it just set volume to 0. That took a while to figure out that the sound was working, but set to 0.

I also got the remote working, I had to edit the .huludesktop file. I have the streamzap remote, and this is what I put in:
Code:
[remote]
lirc_device = /dev/lircd
lirc_remote_identifier = Streamzap_PC_Remote
lirc_release_suffix = _UP
lirc_repeat_threshold = 10
button_name_up = UP
button_name_down = DOWN
button_name_left = LEFT
button_name_right = RIGHT
button_name_select = OK
button_name_menu = MENU

Again, it took some time to figure out that I had to set those exact parameters, I had just used streamzap, which did not work.

I also put a flyspray ( or whatever it is now) request to change /etc/unclutter.cfg parameters and add all the keystrokes like control-w to the help screen. There are new ones I learn all the time.

So Hulu is working pretty good with the remote. The subscribe and queue features are pretty useful too!
