Myth Recording Extender has been added to LinHES.
Code:
sudo pacman -Sy mre
sudo sv start mre

Has been verified with NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL.

Known issues:
It currently doesn't work with record all rules unless you specify an override for that particular recording.
There was an issue with guide data showing Chicago White Sox, but website returned Chicago Sox causing it to fail. That has been fixed, but there may be other anomalys like that.

So it looks like this program recognizes games and scrapes the ESPN site to find out when they are final. This is an awesome IDEA!!!!.

After upgrading to R6.04 (mythtv0.24) I had to install the php-pear package and restart mre.
Code:
sudo pacman -Sy php-pear
sudo sv restart mre

I also noticed the NBA data is old. Edit /usr/local/lib/mre/data/NBAEvent.dat
remove Seattle and add Oklahoma, correct Sacremento to read Sacramento
May need to restart mre for the edit to take effect.

So what happens to programs that record after the game is over ? Pushed back, or run over ?

(I had taken to recording a 4 hour block straight through from 7:00 on game nights to get what came after in their entirety... The network usually runs 'em in their entirety, pushed back a random amount of time .....)

That's something I haven't run into yet so I'm not exactly sure what would happen.

Here's how mre works:
5 minutes left in the game it checks the espn website to see if the game is over. if it isn't, it sneakes into the database and adds 5 minutes to the recording rule for that game. It then calles 'mythbackend --resched' so that mythbackend will reschedule the recordings and notice the extra 5 minutes added to the recording rule. I would assume at that time, if something was scheduled to record right after the game, it would recognize the conflict and reschedule it at a later time if possible. If not possible, I'm not sure how mythtv would handle that based on recording priorities.
