I don't think this is the correct way or the easiest way or the best way to do this. Like most things in Linux there is always an easier way to do everything. Webmin 1.53 added the ability to manage ext4 partitions since I created an ext4 partition and I liked using webmin to manage my drives I wanted to install this. 1) Have 1.44 installed and working properly within LinHES! Cesman and the admins are smarter than me and have done some things in the background that I don't know about but it makes LinHES work. 2) Get Webmin 1.53 Code: $ cd /tmp/ $ wget http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/webadmin/webmin-1.530.tar.gz 3) I'm copying from this page http://www.webmin.com/tgz.html Code: $ gunzip webmin-1.530.tar.gz
$ tar xf webmin-1.530.tar $ cd webmin-1.530 $ sudo ./setup.sh /opt/webmin I'll be honest I think that the /opt/webmin/ directory is where pacman installs 1.44 please tell me if I'm wrong?! 4) Reboot 5) Log into Webmin it should be the same as before. I noticed that when I logged in for the first time Webmin requested to upgrade some components so I did. |
