i am working with R5E50 till now (i know i should have been upgrading...) to start with LinHES i contemplate migrating the recordings i still have on the above box to a new installed LinHES box. as i do not want to loose the recordings, i was searching how to migrate. found this page: http://www.mythpvr.com/mythtv/tips/migrate-recordings.html will this method work on my situation? (don't mind to try myself, but do fear my errors and consequent loss of stuff) thanks. |

I wrote up something when I did the migration from the old production box running KnoppMyth R5F27 to the new one running LinHES 6.04. I even posted a script for most of it while helping someone else through the process. This looks like the original thread here - http://knoppmyth.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22098 I later refined this to make it a bit tidier. The nice thing about this approach is that given a full backup you can test, tweak, test again until it's 100% right, with no risk of losing things. |
