I'm trying to setup extending recording times on particular types of shows. I know I can add time to a show in the scheduler but then if there is another recording scheduled to start in that extended time window, it won't record. I also found the "global" extend recording by x seconds but that's not it either. I found MythTV Setup->Setup->Video->General->Advanced Category record over-time, but that depends on the category of recordings be accurate and I'm not having any luck figuring out how to actually set it. As I scroll through the "Category of shows to be extended", the "Record past end of show (mins)" is set to 60 for everything but nothing I record has ever gone over based on this. What I want to do is extend sporting events to account for possible over time situations but since they aren't that frequent, I want any upcoming recordings scheduled in that extended time to take priority. I had something like this setup on my old R5 system and if I'm remembering correctly it was based on recording group? |

It records an extra 60 minutes for sporting events unless something else is scheduled in that time frame that requires that tuner. Have you tried setting it for "Sports events"? |

I'm sure I had it "set" on that one for a while but didn't see anything added, I'll go back and make sure it is set there for now and keep a closer eye on it. If that is the place to set it, it would imply only one category can be set to extend the time which strikes me as an unusual limitation. |
