Hey all...

I decided to play with MythRemote (in the various online Android implementations) and I've realized my LinHES 7.4 install (front-end only, running DHCP to a static assigned address) is binding port 6546 to 127.0.0.1 instead of the eth0 interface.

Anyone else notice this? (and have a workaround?)

Thanks,

-Ben

I just tried switching the system to static IP and that doesn't help either.

I also made sure the eth0 ip address was listed first in /etc/hosts.

nada.

the myth remote control socket is still on 127.0.0.1

:/

So if (like me) you're using a separate BE/FE Setup, go into mythtv-setup and in General -- remove the IP setting of 127.0.0.1 and now mythTV's frontend binds properly.

Cheers,

-Ben

glad you found a fix. Did you just leave the field empty or did you put the IP address of the frontend into the box?
