Post subject:  Workaround:NVRAM-Wakeup with R5D1

hi
in the new R5D1 the Kernel has the RTC-Module genrtc built-in, which is not supported by nvram-wakeup. If this happens to you, you get an error in console:
Quote:
nvram-wakeup --debug PLUSYOUROPTIONSYOUNORMALLYUSE
...
nvram-wakeup: ioctl RTC_ALM_READ: Invalid argument

The PC will not wake-up anymore using nvram...

Workaround 1 (worse): Build your own Kernel with rtc.ko instead of genrtc.ko in it.
Workaround 2: mv /lib/modules/2.6.17-chw-8/kernel/drivers/char/rtc.ko /lib/modules/2.6.17-chw-8/kernel/drivers/char/genrtc.ko
reboot

Hi,

Thank you.

I would never have found the cause of this problem.

However, i changed the reference to "genrtc" to "rtc" in /etc/modules instead.
