I have discovered 'partimage' on something called 'systemrescue cd'. It can be downloaded here.

This nifty utility allowed me to image a backup of a fresh-install of XP \ Office and allows me to re-image my machine in no time (actually 1.5 hours, less with a smaller HDD). That being said I would like to know if this can be done with KM.

Code:
mythtv@mythtvhost:~$ df -h
Filesystem            Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda1             4.7G  1.8G  2.7G  41% /
/dev/hda3             185G  120G   65G  65% /myth
tmpfs                 188M  4.0K  188M   1% /dev/shm

The snippet above reveals that there are 2 partitions (hda1 & hda3). I am wondering if I backed up hda1, would I have enough to restore a system if I were to booger it up through tinkering \ experiementation. I suspect that any tinkering in /myth (hda3 mounting point) would be at risk.

I am trying to determine if it is possible to leverage the partimage technology to protect me from myself :)
