If you experience network slow down w/ 2.6.11, try the following:
vi /etc/lilo.conf
find the append line, it may look something like this:

append="splash=silent apm=power-off nomce"

Change it to

Quote:

append="acpi=no"

Write and quit. Don't forget to

lilo -v
