Quote:

go to your windows box and type in

Quote:

I can still use my remote and the blaster flashes.. just that the tuner doesn't work.. I'm assuming that lirc is to do with the remote?

Hey this isn't one of those miserable Samsung tuner chips that have been giving people fits on the PVR-500s is it? They show up as type 4 (no tuner found) too. The 150 and 500s tend to share components so it was just a matter of time before these showed up on the 150s...

i look forward to your solution. the remote is the only thing that keeps me from using the myth box all the time instead of the TiVo.

out of the box with R5A26 my card's working, except the remote. Everything's fine BUT that. All I use is the remote, I don't need the IR blaster...I just can't get it to work at all. Can you maybe forward me that much of the tutorial?...

I have the PVR-150 and the IR Receiver works with KnoppMyth R16. I can't get the IR Blaster to work. This and the MythGame module are the only things left.

j0ly can you provide me with some assistance if you have this working.

I wanted to say thanks for this thread. I recently added a second PVR-150 to my Knoppmyth box and was able to successfully get both blasters working with two sat recv'rs.

Thanks!

I had my PVR 150 blaster/remote working just fine under R5A26 until I had to reinstall R5A26. I have changed nothing hardware or software wise. Same box, same old hardware, same version of Knoppmyth. When I reinstalled, everything seemed to go well. This was not an upgrade. It's a clean install. I even had the blaster/remote working until I had to reboot the machine. Upon reboot, I get his message in my syslog:
Code:
Jan  8 18:01:12 mythbox kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
Jan  8 18:01:12 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: ivtv i2c driver #0: no devices found

As you can see below, it was previously working:
Code:
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: chip found with RX and TX
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: ivtv0: i2c attach to card #0 ok [client=Hauppauge PVR150 IR RX, addr=71]
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: ivtv0: i2c attach to card #0 ok [client=Hauppauge PVR150 IR TX, addr=70]
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: lirc_dev: lirc_register_plugin: sample_rate: 0
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: firmware of size 209327 loaded
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: 575 codesets loaded
Jan  8 17:01:54 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: Hauppauge PVR-150 IR blaster: firmware version 1.3.0

So after rebooting a few more times intersperced with banging my head against the wall, I started again, following this guide's instructions.
Code:
# cd /usr/src/lirc-0.7.2pvr150
# make uninstall
# make clean
# make distclean
# ./configure
select TV card and "h" Hauppague PVR-150 TV Card; save & run configure
# make && make install
# reboot (I also tried not rebooting here)
# modprobe lirc_dev debug=1 && modprobe lirc_pvr150 debug=1

I check the syslog and I find this at the end:
Code:
Jan  9 09:40:09 mythbox kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
Jan  9 09:40:09 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: probe 0x70 @ ivtv i2c driver #0: no
Jan  9 09:40:09 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: probe 0x71 @ ivtv i2c driver #0: no
Jan  9 09:40:09 mythbox kernel: lirc_pvr150: ivtv i2c driver #0: no devices found

My PVR-150 is recognized in the IVTV section:
Code:
Jan  9 09:42:58 mythbox kernel: lirc_dev: IR Remote Control driver registered, at major 61
Jan  9 09:42:58 mythbox kernel: tuner (ivtv): chip found at addr 0xc2 i2c-bus cx88[0]
