well.. again, the newbie...... :?

I have a couple of USB discs on my server (mythtvBackend), they were originally formatted and used on XP (NTFS)... after moving to linux, I can only access them as read-only ? What am I doing wrong ?

The are currently mounted (standard) as /media/Maxtor1

Thanks for all your help !

Generally speaking, unless otherwise noted NTFS format partitions will only be mounted read only.
Code:
mount -o rw -t ntfs /dev/blah /mnt/blah
Or something like that... I've no experience w/ Captive NTFS or anything like that... Google for more.

By the looks of it, there is several issues (ie. slow performance)... I think I'll reformat as FAT32.

Thanks for info
