so I bought a 150 from comp usa because the store was closing and it was 50% off and I've been wanting a secon tuner for quite some time.

I came home and put it in a few pci slots down and went into mythtv-setup and added it to the list of capture cards and made it's source the same as my PVR 350.

and all I get when I tell it to record two programs from the 150 is static. and yes I did split the coax so it attaches to both cards and have swapped the cables to see that the 350 records from both cables.

did I miss something?

A few things I would check:

1. Check the log files -- both kern.log and mythbackend.log. You will probably find some good info there.

2. Make sure that you configured the card with the correct device. ie: That you don't have them both point at, for example, /dev/video0

3. If you don't find anything in to logs and you confirm that you are using the correct /dev/video device in myth setup, try moving the card to a different PCI slot.

With an older version of KM like that I'm guessing you've got a tuner chip that the old driver doesn't support. See the TroubleShooting pages on the wiki and probably the CompileIvtv page. Even after that you may need to do the fix on the bottom half of the TVCaptureCards page.

I am trying to install mythtv with KnoppMyth R5E50.
I have got a pvr -150 with an IR blaster hoked up to it. But nothing is working. For Live TV all I see is static and the blaster is also looking silent. I followed http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page ... hSetTopBox for IR Blaster setup. I am trying this since a long time now so thought of asking for help.
Ok, first of all, I am trying to tune my card to get signals from my Scientific Atlanta 3200 box. I live in Toronto Canada.
I am having trouble getting started. Right now during the install I did what http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Us ... ith_MythTV (under Configuring Myth Backend) said. I changed the "Preset Tuner to channel" to 3. But after the install when I go to watch live TV all I see is static.
Can any one tell me how can I change the tuner setting or what I have do to get it working?

And for the IR Blaster I dont see the below stated logs anywhere in my syslog file. Is that the problem?
Aug 28 02:09:11 soapbox kernel: ivtv: i2c attach [client=Hauppauge PVR150 IR RX,
ok]
Aug 28 02:09:11 soapbox kernel: ivtv: i2c attach [client=Hauppauge PVR150 IR TX,
ok]
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
Cando
