Hello all...

I have been using MythTV for a couple of weeks. I have recently purchased an IRBlaster. If have upgraded to R5C7 and went through the IRBlaster configuration. The IRBlaster doesn't seem to be sending a signal. When I manually issue and irsend command, no error messages are returned, but nothing the STB doesn't respond. I am receiving smp_process_id() messages in dmesg.

Also, the only thing I have found that I need to reconfigure on a fresh install is I have to add "noapic and noioapic" to the append line in lilo.conf. Would this have anything to do with IRBlaster not working? Is there any other diagnostic steps I could take to help resolve the issue?

Thanks in advance. If you need any more information, please let me know.

Have you checked you are connected to the right com port?
Is the com port enabled in the bios?
Does the blaster also have a visible led (that changes the diagnostic options)?
Do you have a multimeter?

I did a fresh install of R5C7. I ALMOST have it working. If I run the channel_change.sh from the command line, it changes to the right channel. If I try to change the channel through mythtv, it changes to a "random" channel.

Thanks for you help!!

If anyone else runs into this problem, it is most likely because you scanned for channels when setting up your capture card. If you remove all your capture cards, and don't scan for channels, all will be good.
