I doesn't output anything... It backs up /etc(not restored), /root(not restored) and /home(not restored) and the mythconverg database. When you do an Auto Upgrade, hda1 is wiped clean. After a reboot, the myth database is restored. The Backup option in the menu system runs the backup script. |

thanks cesman ok so from what it sounds like the backup feature backs up all the myth stuff and you restore it by using auto upgrade when a new version of myth comes out. ok that sounds cool, but unfortunatly not at all what im looking for. i was kind of hoping for some kind of way to backup all files on a linux system. I know how to do it on a microsoft system. and im sure linux has it own spin on it.. i will keep looking but if anyone wants to comment feel free |

I doesn't restore when a new Myth is realease, rather when a new version of KnoppMyth is released. If you re-read what I wrote, you'll see this does do what you want. You'll just need to restore /etc(risky that is why we don't restore it...). |

I've always been curious when this topic comes up. where is this elusive backup menu item? I've done several knoppmyth installs and never seen this item. |
