My HDTV (using 1080i output from Myth) overscans and cuts off the edges of my desktop. Is there anyw ay to set X and Y coordinates for fluxbox so that my desktop appears with a 50 or 100 pixel border around it? (Think like a picture within a picture frame.)

Since I'm using my VGA out (not TV out), I can't use the nvidia-settings overscan option.

Do you use the system for anything other than mythtv?
If not, you can use the settings within the mythtv frontend to do this.

As turpie said. Otherwise, can you not adjust the overscan on the TV? Overscanning the VGA input seems odd to me.

I use it for web browsing and games, as well as Myth, so I need a fully visible desktop. I guess I'll need to start playing with my modelines again. There doesn't seem to be an easier way.

I too find it surprising that there is not a big obvious "HowTo" for resizing the KnoppMyth desktop! I would expect that many people use their system for more than just Mythtv, such as the cool games that come with knoppmyth, or if you install Mozilla / Firefox and want to browse the web!

Not to mention, that the channel-changing dialogues which appear when you are going to change channels, is way too big to fit on the screen! I can't see the channel icons, etc.

Use the setting found in setup from the main menu.

Check the display myth in window, and check the display video same size and then tweek the settings until you get it right.

Turns out this is an X windows issue, and there may not BE a fix for it right now!

Note to all: This problem cannot be fixed in MythTV, it is a non-MythTV issue. So I may just be taking it out of this forum until I find a fix.

I have even subscribed to the Xfree86 mailing list. WOO!
