Hi,

I installed R5D1 and it auto recognized my Trend PCI wireless NIC card.
I choose to use static IP address, and it seemed to take it. While the system was running, it got guide data and I was able to view local weather.

I powered off tthe machine and moved it into the room I am going to use it in and when I powered back up, its using another IP address (Not even on my network).

I set it to 192.168.1.200 and after reboot it has 192.168.2.1

Another issue (whcih I assume is releated), when I try to view guide data, it bombs out to the knoppmyth desktop (mythtv exits)

Any help would be appreciated...thanks
Ron

Is your network on a router ? Did you set up the router to tie the MAC number of your mythbox computer to a fixed IP ? Otherwise the router will assign random IP numbers, and gum up the works !

For what its worth, I fixed the issue (I think it may be a big) because it happened every time I did a fresh in stall (and on two different machines)

i had to go in and modify /etc/network/interface

to add my essid. It seems during install the essid and some other details didnt get copied over. Once I manually put them in, all worked again.
