I have been a knoppixmyth user now for a couple of years now and have run into a problem that I can't seem to correct doing my usual searching through the forum. I am currently using r5d1 with an upgrade of mythtv to .20. The issue is that before I upgraded to r5d1, (I believe from r5c7) I was able to watch a recorded program while both tuners of my pvr500 were recording. Now this is basically impossible as the playback is very choppy and sometime will quit back to the recordings menu. I am not sure what is causing the trouble. After scouring the forums I found that with some previous releases people had issues with this if they had chosen th i586 option instead of i686 during the configuration so, I checked what my version was that was listed in /etc/mythtv-version and it lists i586. I realize that I should have i686 installed as I have a P4 1.6GHz. I am not sure exactly what this option is for though. Is this pertaining to the Kernel you installed or is it the versions of the modules installed specifically for mythtv? Is this the issue, or am I barking up a wrong tree? What steps do I need to help get my system back to a more usable state? |
