So I'm still having the same issues after the mysql maintenance. Does the R5E50 release have the same issue where install hangs if you have pvr250 and hd-5500 in at the same time? Thanks! |

Looking at the upgrade tips in detail reminded me of the sound issue in R5D1: The kernel oops I was getting on shutdown turned out to be the cx88_alsa module conflict when running on-board sound and a DVB card documented here: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... nd&start=0 I added cx88_alsa to the blacklist in two places because I wasn't sure which was the good one: in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist and in /etc/hotplug/blacklist and I can now reboot without oops'. I thought that I had gotten around this when I upgraded to r5d1 by having the hd5500's out of the box then adding them later. What is strange is that I had no problems for several months, then now the issue popped up. Although I can't remember for sure, It may be that I had not rebooted since my last upgrade. I also do not currently use the HD5500s that are in my box, although there are a couple of channels configured on them that might get grabbed if both other pvr250s are being used. (the channels on the 5500s are also on the analog cards which have a higher priority). Anyway ... I am going to try the box out now and see if I still have issues rather than plunge immediately into the upgrade. Thanks! |

Whoops tired eyes... I read that as "PVR500" yesterday, for some reason. The need to blacklist the cx88_alsa module for these cards still exists. |

Found this regarding the IVTV dropping data / not reading fast enough error (Scroll to the end) http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/i ... ata;#33874 I created a file called "options" in /etc/modprobe.d/ that has the following line in it: options ivtv mpg_buffers=16 I restarted and haven't seen the error since. You can also try upgrading to the 0.10.0 ivtv drivers. There are simple instructions for doing this on the wiki. The only part I can't vouch for personally is part about getting the kernel source setup, since I'd already taken care of that by other means. |

Yep. The R5F27 upgrade script try to take care of that for you but there's just too many places people can hide them. This is covered in the R5F27 Hints thread. |
