Post subject:  ATI Radeon 9x00 and install-radeon-debian.sh

Hi All,

I'm very aware of the ATI problems and I'm going through Wiki's and other discussions to resolve the post install issues.

However I did see a nice script in /usr/local/bin called install-radeon-debian.sh that looks like it should do this config step very nicely, however it doesn't appear to support the Xorg version that comes with R5E50, nor can it "alien" the RPM package it downloads from ATI.

If this script could be updated it would be a far less error prone way to getting ATI cards working with KnoppMyth.

Anyway just my 2c worth.

Regards,

Richard

upgrade the version of x on your system? I mean unless there's something i dont know about they wouldn't pooch your setup THAT badly by upgrading the binary files.

Another option is ti insist it ignore dependencies, but if you do that your on your own if things break ;-).
