Post subject: | How to fix Mythweather without complete reinstall? |
I am having problems getting Mythweather to work - I am in Canada. Unfortunately when I first installed KM R5E50 I opted to use my Canadian postal address. I say 'unfortunately as I read in the following post that the workaround is to select a US zip code during the initial install then when it is up go into settings and change it later to my Canadian one. (Now all that happens when I try to run Mythweather is that it says it can’t retrieve the data and asks me if I want to try again with longer timeout) The other way (according to the thread below) is to select my nearest city from a list - presumably available to me during the initial install. Since I messed up and didn't do either of these steps is there any way of fixing this up without a complete reinstall? http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ythweather thanks, Kevin |

Hi Bruce, I tried following the instructions from that link you pointed me to but I keep getting a syntax error: root@mythtv:~# mysql Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 18 to server version: 5.0.27-Debian_1-log Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer. mysql> mythconverge -> select * from settings where value = 'locale'; ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'mythconverge select * from settings where value = 'locale'' at line 1 any ideas what I'm doing wrong? It's not just mythconverge on its own, it's: Code: use mythconverg
Then it's the rest of the instructions. Bruce S. |
