What does /usr/local/bin/move_recordings.sh do?

I came across the script, and I just wondered what it was for. I don't see much about it in the forums, and googling turns up nothing.

From looking at the copy on my system it looks like this script will blow away your entire database, then recreate an empty version, and finally import only the recording data from your most recent backup.

It attempts to recreate the database by running /usr/share/mythtv/sql/mc.sql which does not exist on my system (or at least not at that location), meaning If I ran this script it would just blow away my database and leave me hosed.

It also has a line
#/usr/loca/bin/mythbackup
which would do a fresh backup for you if you uncomment the line and fix the typo (local, not loca)

I'm thinking I'd avoid playing with this one.

Yeah, that looks rather broken... I see several other problems with it. E.g. - /usr/local/bin/MythTV.sql should be /usr/local/bin/MythTV-sql

I'll recommend adding a fix in the patcher.

Yeah... I started work on that way back when. The intent was just that, if you want to move recordings to a new machine or if you you wanted to blow everything away expect your records and start clean.
