Hello all...

I've been trying to fix an issue where I am not getting any sound. I had been running an old release (R5D1) and have recently did a fresh install (not upgrade) of R5F27. Almost everything is working... but one issue I am having is I have no sound at reboot. I've done some searching on the forum, and alsamixer seems to be what everyone is using. Here is the thing... when I adjust my levels through alsamixer, I still don't have sound. If I adjust them using aumix (which is what I used in the old release), I can hear everything perfectly, but the aumix changes are reset on a reboot. So...

1) What is the difference between alsamix and aumix
2) Is there a setting somewhere that I can change so that mythtv will recognize alsamix changes
3) The best would be if I could get the aumix changes to keep after a reboot. Any ideas?

I had the same problem and this worked for me:

Try running alsamixer to get your levels right. My issue was a muted line and no volume.

Then as root try:
Code:
 /etc/sbin/alsactl store

I may have missed the obvious along the way but here are some of the links I found that led me to this.

I re-re-read http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16384
Ran alsaconf and insured /dev/dsp0 was /dev/dsp in the settings for myth but it didn't solve the problem.

Tried this : http://www.knoppmythwiki.org/index.php? ... gsNotSaved
but I noticed that I don't have the Sound script in /etc/initi.d/
