Hi,

I've trying to get a serial IRBlaster going on a clean install of R5F27 and not having a lot of luck so far.

My IRBlaster has a visible LED which is not lighting so am pretty sure not getting the signal sent to the port.

Any suggestions would be great.

So far have done:

Clean auto install of a R5F27.

During install selected use IRBlaster, but external box not listed option.
During install selected use remote, but remote not listed option.

After install followed howto to get a imon pad remote and VFD going: http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... light=imon
(Seems to work fine).

To get the irblaster remote file, did:
Code:
mkdir /usr/local/share/knoppmyth/irblaster/Ican_3000_TelstraClear_NZ
cd /usr/local/share/knoppmyth/irblaster/Ican_3000_TelstraClear_NZ
wget http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/adb/I-CAN_3000
mv I-CAN_3000 irblasterd.conf

Then ran
Code:
/usr/local/bin/irblaster.sh
and selected my new remote and COM1.

Rebooted the box.

If I try and use
Code:
/etc/irblaster/channel_change.sh
the LED doesn't light up and the channel doesn't change.

Have checked my COM ports are coming up as COM1:
Code:
root@myth:/var/log# dmesg | grep tty
serial8250: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
00:07: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A

lircd seems to be logging the channel change.
Code:
root@myth:/var/log# /etc/irblaster/channel_change.sh 1
Changing to 1
root@myth:/var/log# tail /var/log/lircd
Oct  6 13:06:31 katie lircd: lircd(imon_pad) ready

Oct  6 13:33:17 katie lircd: accepted new client on /dev/irblasterd

The lirc modules are loaded in the kernel:
Code:
root@myth:/var/log# cat /proc/modules | grep lirc
lirc_serial 16128 0 - Live 0xfa19b000
lirc_imon 19332 2 - Live 0xf8ef5000
lirc_dev 16772 2 lirc_serial,lirc_imon, Live 0xf8f25000
usbcore 111364 8 usb_storage,uhci_hcd,lirc_imon,usbhid,ehci_hcd,ohci_hcd, Live 0xf8d78000

Tried swapping the port the blaster was plugged into in case had COM1 and 2 around the wrong way.
Also tried another IRBlaster (one with no visible LED), it didn't change the channel.

The imon remote and VFD seem to be working fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
[/code]

did notice in section 3 of http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=16384 that the serial port is grabbed by x server. Have commented it out as suggested, still same issues though...

Thanks
