Post subject:  Web Based File Browsers

I am looking for a good solution to access random files (music, ebooks, etc.) from my Mythbox through the web.

So far I've given AJAX File Browser a try. It was extremely easy to install and has some great features.

However, it is missing a few key features. For one, I'd like a search engine to easily search through a group of ebooks, or even better, search for text WITHIN ebooks.:] Or alternately it doesn't let you download entire directories, just files.

I can spend some time just tweaking the default install to add in these features. Although that may take some time as I havent worked with AJAX. Alternately, does anyone know of any good open source web-based file browser solutions?

Cool. I'll try and check that out and compare with the other options.
As far as a search engine, I decided to just load up an independent servlet (within Tomcat) that handles the 'advanced' searching I wanted for my PDF library.

For full-text search capabilities, I loaded up Zilverline. It was fairly seamless. Just had to install Tomcat on top of Apache and update Java JRE. By default it automatically indexes as a cronjob daily so I can search for topics in my pd freference collection.
