Post subject: | Preventing a module from loading? |
I'm running RF27 on a frontend and need to prevent rt61pci from loading at boot time. I've tried everything I can think of, but it's still being loaded. - added "blacklist rt61pci" to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist - added a file called rt61pci to /etc/modprobe.d containing "blacklist rt61pci" - commented out rt61pci in /etc/modules it's still being loaded! However, /lib/modules/2.6.18-chw-13/modules.alias still contains: alias pci:v00001814d00000301sv*sd*bc*sc*i* rt61pci alias pci:v00001814d00000302sv*sd*bc*sc*i* rt61pci alias pci:v00001814d00000401sv*sd*bc*sc*i* rt61pci alias pci:v00001814d00000301sv*sd*bc*sc*i* rt61 alias pci:v00001814d00000302sv*sd*bc*sc*i* rt61 alias pci:v00001814d00000401sv*sd*bc*sc*i* rt61 which I'm suspecting may be my problem. I'm not sure whether to remove the lines or what? Any help would be appreciated. |

Why not just remove it or rename it? |

I renamed it for now. I know that's not the correct way though. I just want to figure out how to do it at this point. |
