I am trying to remove commercials from programs that I successfully recorded using mythtv. I will call the mpg file created as x.mpg. I get the following output when I try removing commercials -

1) mythcommflag -f x.mpg

Essentially theres a missing codec but I don't know what it is - When I google I find lots of references for "Parser not found for Codec Id: 94210 !" but no solution. Does anyone know how to fix this ? I would really appreciate any help !!

Is this a new issue that used to work? What version of KM/MythTV are you running? Judging by the numbers you posted I'd say fairly old, so this may have been fixed already.

However, a quick Google for "mythtranscode Unknown video codec:" yields many hits including this one, indicating possible corruption in your codecparams table. This gets me wondering how you have your Recording profiles (specifically the Defaults) setup - What codecs do you have defined in there?

(A little background on your hardware wouldn't hurt, specifically your tuners)

Memory says that's the CC (closed caption/subtitles) information. The "unknown" codec in the older versions is why you lose that in this kind of transcoding. I think that MythTV 0.21 is supposed to have better support for this but it's still not perfect.
