KM 5.5 HDhomerun (ota) Already had myth working fine on this exact setup (including schedules ota). But, I did a fresh install because I was playing around with some HD settings and wanted to go forward cleanly. Now, I can't get past "fetching channels." After install and during "setup", "general" looks fine. No changes from default. "capture card" recognizes HDhomerun without issue. No changes. On "video sources", I select "digital broadcast" and enter my schedules direct information. I know I am connecting because I can select from multiple lineups (I have a different box running SD). Otherwise no change. On "video input", I select one of the HDHomerun inputs and change source to "digital_broadcast". Then, when I try to "fetch channels" nothing happens. No pause or anything. And no channels. If I scan for channels it finds them and I can watch the scanned channels. But no schedule. (I know I am not supposed to scan for channels first because it screw something up, but I scanned once just to check to make sure, then reinstalled fresh). I have tried it several times and reviewed the forum and the wiki. Can't find the answer. If a particular log would help troubleshoot, I am not sure which one. Any direction would be appreciated. |

My experience with R5.5 and OTA is that I had to do the following, in this order: 1. Scan channels. 2. Fetch from listing source. 3. Run mythfilldatabase Marc |

Wow. That was easy. Thanks, Marc. (I thought that scan for channels roached the scheduler. Shows what I know.) Thanks again. |

Glad to help out. I actually ran into the same "problem" when I set up a machine for my brother, as I also thought you were supposed to download first. In fact, I'm fairly certain the scanning first in R5D1 yielded annoying results. Looks like things changed a bit somewhere between R5D1 and R5.5. Marc |

If I recall correctly, scanning for channels is bad with analog tuners, you need to fetch from source, but scanning for channels is required for atsc tuners. |

That would explain it. When I helped my brother set up his R5D1 system, he was tuning OTA analog channels with a PVR-150. The R5.5 system I just helped him set up is tuning OTA digital channels with an HVR-950. Marc |
