I just recently upgraded to R5.5

In setting up my boxes, I have noticed that VNC screens seem to freeze and stop refreshing.

It does this on all of my systems and I see the same results from two different machines running two different versions of TightVNC. My most recent client is TightVNC 1.3.9 per the docs.

The remote system is still responding to key presses as I can watch one of the systems or go look and it has moved the cursor to where I expected it. However in my window looking at it the screen is frozen at some screen.

I have pushed the request screen refresh but that doesn't work. If I drop VNC and then comeback it is at the expected screen.

This worked fine under R5F27.

Thoughts?

I have the same problem, and I think it's related to using opengl rendering. I've found that if you pull up an xterm window and task switch between them it'll refresh. Not pretty but it works. I've tried looking through the settings in tightvnc to see if it might be a problem there, but haven't found anything that looks promising.

That seems to have fixed it.
I'll watch it a bit.

Thanks

Adding -noxdamage to the vnc options in /home/mythtv/.fluxbox/apps

[startup] {/usr/bin/x11vnc -noxdamage -nap -wait 50

Do a pkill xinit to restart GUI. Thanks to some previous poster.

p.s. Usefull to correct no response keyboard. CTL F1 if you must.
