Perhaps someone can help me out here. I have a Silverstone case with the iMON LCD. For a while the LCD was working out of the box with LinHES, which is something that hasn't happened with any other distro. At some point the LCD stopped working (some update) and today I noticed that if I hit F2 to bring up verbose mode on the boot that lcdproc is starting over and over again. In fact it tries to start just about once every second. I feel a bit lost in the new LinHES layout so I'm not entirely sure how to debug this issue. I grep'ed all the logs in /var/log and there was no mention of lcdproc. I also checked the /etc/LCDd.conf file and the correct drive is set (imon). Any suggestions for where to go from here? Also I apologize if this should go in the general forums. Things have changed a bit since I was last regularly posting.

Try reconfiguring the LCD with the service menu (it's under the Remotes section of the service menu). You might need to select no LCD,let it configure then go back in select the imon.
If it still does work then try this steps and report back the info.

#check if lcdproc is installed.
pacman -Q lcdproc
#if it is installed then stop lcdproc and try running it my hand.
sv stop lcdd
/usr/sbin/LCDd -f -c /etc/LCDd.conf

I have the same problem and the output of starting by hand is:

[root@mythtv ~]# /usr/sbin/LCDd -f -c /etc/LCDd.conf
LCDd 0.5.2, LCDproc Protocol 0.3
Part of the LCDproc suite

I had the same problem, adding the following line
options lirc_imon display_type=1
to the file
/etc/modprobe.conf
solved it. Now the device is created
