I am unable to connect to my DB since eth0 has no IP address assigned to it. If I manually set the IP using ifconfig eventually things connect however I need the address to be set automatically upon boot. How would pacman -Syu have changed this? Still not convinced Arch is all that much easier.

Maybe you should get your money back... or build your boxes from the ground up yourself.

I can confirm that I ran into the same problem. I have two machines I upgraded on August 10th. Both, lost their network connection. I ended up using mythvantage to reset them. However, when I look in the directory

Code:
/etc/net/ifaces/eth0

I see the two pacsave files
Code:
/etc/net/ifaces/eth0/ipv4route.pacsave
 /etc/net/ifaces/eth0/ipv4address.pacsave

with a date that corresponds to my original LinHES install. Would it be appropriate to post a comment on flyspray to confirm the problem exists? This was a rather annoying little one.....

You can do that just to confirm and "vote" for the task.

What you may fail to remember is that LinHES is still in BETA testing phase and little things like this pop up from time to time.

Bear with it and the fruits will be reaped in the end.
