for some reason my backend will not load on boot, it was working fine then I came home to find the backend had stopped so I rebooted to find the log files were full so I dumped them and now the back end will not load.

I have no idea where to go from here, HELP!

What happens when you do:
Code:
sudo sv start mythbackend

Also, after you try to start mythbackend manually from the command line and it fails, look in your logs, e.g.,
Code:
tail /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log

I did try to start it but it was saying something about it not knowing the setup or something or the database, so I followed the n screen instructions but at the end it just looped back to the begining

Were you in the frontend, and it was presenting you with the "Choose a language", then "Backend IP address or hostname" thing?

Try opening up a terminal (ALT+X should do it in X-Windows) and running the commands I listed earlier to see the output.

I'm being lazy and not realy moving forward, but I noticed the hard drive light is blinking durring show I told it to record, so the back end must be running, and the front end just cant find it... I'm going to check that file I had to modify to make other front ends find it
