I have a bi-directional amp and a on Q low impedance 8 way splitter which has been tested on all outputs for digital signal quality and they all tested ok.

I then have a splitter to my TV and to my PVR which is a standard 2 way -3.5db digital splitter from my cable guy. then I have a 4 way splitter with one output capped. it has one output labeled "power pass" which I assume is low impedence. then it has 3 others which arent labeled for impedance, but I've never had an issue with those. my 350 and 150 get crystal clear signal and my 500 has gotten signal from both tuners in the past...

so I doubt its my wire rig.

oh and all wires are RG6 quad shielded ends (those expensive crimp on ones) I threw out everything below RG6 unless it was a long odd cable no lower than RG59U

OK, I'll trust you have checked your connections. I dunno what a "low impedance" splitter is. As far as I know, TV coax is 75 ohm and has to be 75 ohms everywhere, on all ports. But if you've hooked some other device to the exact same cable you use for the PVR-500 and seen good quality, then that puts it to rest for me. Sorry for the diversion!
