well sorry it's not that easy. it's not just stored in a file like that. Deffinately the easiest way would be netcardconfig, beyond that would be /etc/network/interfaces and the final way is to manually set it with ifconfig.

check in the /etc/init.d directory, i remember on older versions of slackware linux it was in a /etc/rc.d/rc.something file

Ohhh soooo sorry Xsecrets you didnt answer it in the form of a question... :(
