Hi all,

I spent a long time manually scanning channels & mapping them to the correct XMLTV IDs etc. Now I am helping my neighbor setup a LinHES system. Is there a way I can export all the channel related settings from my system & import into his? While I'm at it & maybe the same question, how do I create a channel.conf for others to use & not have to go through the pain I did? Env details below:

Comcast Cable
I have a KWorld 115, he has a PCHDTV 5500
No other sources or inputs, just QAM coax to the above cards.
Both on R6.
Both running the same moldy HP Pentium 4 h/w.

Thx.

I would just backup the whole database and restore it to his machine. If the hardware is the same he'd would be ready to go.

If not drop the configured adapters, and add the right one's for his machine.

Beware of the issues with different host names. If you search the forums for "change hostname" you should find the discussions of what is involved and even a script called "change_hostname.sh" to do the DB part.

I had assumed I could make my own channel.conf or something, guess not!

While googling a solution I came across this util http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Comcast_Users_And_scte65scan

Never knew that existed, I guess that might be the safest option.

Thx folks,

Paul
