Hello,
has anyone managed to get TV OUT working without vesa with this card ?
I nearly tried every driver and every x server, but so far nothing helped.
If I use vesa as driver, everything is fine but slow as hell,
if i use the radeon with X Windows driver, i only get a totaly garbled output.
The official ati fglrx cannot be installed, because it tells me the kernel is to old ?! ...
I also tried the gatos driver, but the binary distrib has no tv output,
and so far i did not want to get the tv branch by cvs.
The last and far promissing aproach was a patched radeon driver, that i found in a thread inside this forum.
This one even tells me in XFree log that clone modes and tvout are avaible,
but that one won't even start, because it says that the only available mode is 320x200 ?!!?
I am really getting desperate with this one.
What I also tried was to use xvidx with mplayer, but this is only a little faster than using the generig x11 with vesa.

Maybe someone has an idea about it all ?

Besides, is there a way to play the recordings from mythtv with mplayer ?
So far neither rtjpeg nuv nor divx compressed ones are recog. by mplayer.
I found the nuvexport script, but i don't want to manually call that one after a succesfull recording.

thanks in advance

no suggestions on the radeon, but there is an mplayer patch to allow it to play nuv files. It may even be in the main branch now, but don't quote me on that I haven't looked into it in a long time.

Thanks for your answer,
btw. in my profile I checked the option to receive emails on replies,
but I did not get one ... :(

Concerning nuv files, this is strange, because i know that mplayer
did play nuv files some time ago.
But I read that mythtv is using a modified type of nuv files ?
