Hi. I've installed a clean R4V5, but I need to sort out a number of major configuration problems before I can call my box "working": 1) No TV sound 2) Can't get UK TV listings 3) Won't play DVDs I've only just started venturing into the marvellous realm of video/sound under Linux so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction? (and hopefully, I'm in the right forum for this post!) anyway, here comes the details ... --------------------------- 1) No TV sound I've got a C-Media AC97 sound chip (onboard Abit Sg-71) TV card (from dmesg output): saa7130[0]: found at 00:0a.0, rev: 1, irq: 7, latency: 32, mmio: 0xe2003000 saa7130[0]: subsystem: 5168:0138, board: LifeView FlyVIDEO2000 [card=3,autodetected] saa7130[0]: board init: gpio is 38500 saa7130[0]: registered input device for IR Sound is fine when playing mpeg files, but there's no sound when I watch TV. However, it's OK if I run awtv and alsamixer from the console. I'm using mic instead of lineIn as this gave me better volume in alsamixer. Is it right to have "/dev/dsp" as the audio device in the Capture Card Setup? 2) Can't get UK TV listings: I've got a Sky box, so I updated the tv_grab_uk_rt, following the instructions here: http://knoppmythwiki.homelinux.org/inde ... SkyDigiBox but mythfilldatabase --graboptions " --days 14" gives: ----------------- Start of XMLTV output ----------------- All data is the copyright of the Radio Times website <http://www.radiotimes.com> and the use of this data is restricted to personal use only. term_width must be at least 5 at blib/lib/Class/MethodMaker.pm (autosplit into blib/lib/auto/Class/MethodMaker/new_hash_init.al) line 339 ------------------ End of XMLTV output ------------------ Error in 1:1: unexpected end of file Updating icons for sourceid: 1 Failed to fetch some program info 2004-12-05 06:43:13 mythfilldatabase: Failed to fetch some program info 3) Won't play DVDs hda: ST340014A, ATA DISK drive hdc: LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive mplayer dvd:// -dvd-device %d -fs -zoom -vo x11 I've "chown root:cdrom /dev/scd0" as the device had the wrong group of "utmp". But I think Knoppix isn't auto-mounting the DVD drive because if I manually mount the drive as root from the command line, Myth will play the opening sequence of the DVD but then immediately exits.
