I have been looking around trying to find good information on setting up X11 to work with and without a mouse. Basically I want to modify my lircrc file to use the directional buttons on my remote to move the mouse cursor/pointer. And the select/enter button to act as a mouse click. Changing remote controls is not an option. Anyone played with getting this running. I found reference to X*pointerkeys. This would be helpful for mythbrowser, or doing quick things when out of the frontend.

I think what you are looking for is lircmd, however I've never used it. And I don't know how it would work with lirc.

umm, thanks for that. lircmd was alluding me other than a brief reference from another site. A little bit more toying and it looks like I may be able to get this to work. I will post back if I get somewhere. Others may find this useful as myth-browser makes its way to more boxes.
