Post subject: | Weird Old Skool Question |
So when I first saw the MythTV configuration I thought of Scala. http://www.scala.com/ Scala uses a multiple frontend backend configuration. Then I thought back to the Amiga version of Scala. If you don't know what the Amiga is, or was, or could have been, please don't ask me ask someone else. Anyway my question is this. Does a similar piece of software exist on the linux platform? MythTV has all of the components seperated out that is why I am asking on this forum. MythTV has video, audio, pictures, and information. Of course these are all seperate modules. Does any linux software exist that allows you to easily combine music, video, images, and information? I have always found Scala to be one of the easiest and fastest creation enviroments for multimedia. MythTV has the frontend backend setup it just doesn't have a good Multimedia Engine to allow everything it stores to be combined. Anyway hope everyone has a great day. -you are what you do so i am a typer Rich Shumaker The Other Contact Juggler Rich At Contact Juggling Dot Com www.RichShumaker.com |

Post subject: | I still got em |
cesman you always seem to have the answers. And you just brought me a smile. Thanks. Oh and thanks for keeping my MythTV going tonight. I was able to get it back up and running just in time for Battlestar. Using 2 or 3 of your posts. I still have a few of Amigas but don't use them all that much anymore. Still use bars and pipes now and again. Love the guitar and arpegio. I am going to check on a A1200 with networking and see how much they are these days. Since I live in the "land of bam" I was at ground zero for C=. We will see if the A1200 is cheap enough to make into a scala playback machine from the MythBackend. Wish the networking was cheaper, I know that is pricey. Wish the CD32 with MPEG-2 playback got wider acceptance. Hey can MythTV emulate the Amiga for all of those old skool games? The Amiga's games Rocked. l8r. Rich Shumaker |

UAE is available for Linux, so in theory you can play the old schools games. You'd just need to make a menu entry. Gods, Speedball, Turrican, etc! A freind of mine played Gods so much, he had dreams about it! The Amiga had the best hardware architecture to date. Paula, Denise and Agnus kicked major behind. Amiga like hardware today and BeOS would rule! But of course there is that monopoly in the NW. sigh... On another note: Battlestar is good! Better than I thought it would be. |
