Post subject:  how to remove linux boot partition

Hi guys, I have an old linux drive I want to use as a windows drive and was wondering how do I remove all linux partitions.

I can't see the linux partitions under windows disk manager.

Thanks

Not totaly sure this belongs here, but to answer your question anyway.. It depends on what version of windows your installing..

win 98ish you need to Fdisk all "NONDOS partitions"
win NTish (including XP) it allows you to kill partions on install, by highlighting the partition and hitting the "d" key then "l" key.

If you install the drive in a linux box you can do
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hd?
Where ? is the appropriate letter for where the drive was connected.

I see, so there's not way to delete the partition from within windows? Again, I was not able to see and therefore not delete the linux boot partition.

i told you two ways... Here is a 3rd if your already running windows, on NT/xp you can goto manage computer and goto volumes management. You can delete volumes from there. however this is not your best area for windows tips..
