I often use putty and vi from my windows box upstairs to make config changes to my Myth experiment in the basement. Is there a way to copy text from a windows program and paste it into vi over putty?

This would make life easier when I am trying out new config options for lirc.

Thanks!

I tried middle-click before, but never the right click.

Just make sure vi is in insert mode first. Otherwise the paste operation could likely invoke all kinds of commands and operations rather than actually pasting.

You can modify the behaviour: in the options, under Window->Selection, you can choose between xterm behaviour (middle pastes), Windows behaviour (right mouse brings up menu) and a compromise.

Putty is a quality tool.

If anyone doesn't know, you can set up the named configuration in putty, and then create a shortcut to it and add "-load <configName>" to the shortcut target (in its Preferences). e.g. my target is:

"C:\Documents and Settings\james\bin\putty.exe" -load PVR

.. and then I pinned it to the start menu.
