| Post subject: | Green boxes in XTerm |
Hi all, I got KnoppMyth installed with very little trouble, but I am having one issue. When I hit ctrl-alt-F1 to get an XTerm screen, all I get are green boxes on the screen. I am using an NVidia FX5200 to output to my TV. Any ideas? Thanks! |

point of clarification ctrl+alt+F2 does not take you to an xterm it takes you to a console. to fix the problem you need to change vga=??? to vga=normal in /etc/lilo.conf and run lilo -v then reboot. Above steps need to be done as root. |

And just to add on to X's reply, since right now you can't see the display to do any of those things on that computer, you'll either need to connect a monitor to it temporarily, or (best choice) use ssh and connect to the computer remotely, make the changes that X recommended, then "shutdown -r now" to reboot your computer. |
