How to change channel with GUIDE?

Post subject:  How to change channel with GUIDE?
When in the Guide (EPG) or Live TV Guide, can you set it up so when you hit OK on a selection that is currently showing, it changes to that channel?

Right now you only get record options.. If I wanted record options I would press RECORD to be frank.

If the show is currently ON and I press OK it should just change channels, if its in the future, it should present me with recording options.

If the show is currently ON, and I press RECORD it should show me recording options.

The way it is now, I use the guide to see whats on, press EXIT to go back to full screen live TV then I have to change the channel... UGH!

You can get some of this functionality.

There's an option in the setup under program guide.

The way you described it working would be nice but I don't think that's possible.

Hopefully someone from Myth devel is reading these forums...

Looks like in certain cases that posting they key layout in the mythkeys page on knoppmyth web or in the mythtv docs is a waste of time...

M = Change to selected channel in Guide

Out of the box, with a pvr 250 small grey remote, The "Menu" button is mapped to this key. OK brings up record options.

So, if I have the OK button on my remote in the live guide (through mythweb) remap to do the 'M' functionality... then what happends when I move foward in the guide in the timeline and hit OK... does it change channels or ask to record?

I ask because Im at work and havne't gotten home to try it :-).

Seriously though, thanks for the pointer on using the 'M' key, I'll see if I can map things so that OK on my remote will Send 'Return' for everything else, and remap REturn to the set channel in live guide in Mythweb.
