irman on knoppmyth? Works fine on debian and ubuntu.

Post subject:  irman on knoppmyth? Works fine on debian and ubuntu.
I have a irman based reciever which I have zero problems with under debian.

But I tried to set it up for my brother who uses knoppmyth. It looks like they pulled the irman driver out of the lirc package. (I can only wonder why.... i thought almost all serial recievers are irman recievers.)

With knoppmyth, is it recommended that you just ditch knoppmyths lirc and build from source? Thats what it seems like from the howto's i've found.

Also, should I be apt-get upgrade or apt-get -f dist-upgrade'ing knoppmyth? It looks like its pointed at debian mirrors. Seems dangerous to me.

With R5A22 I believe that it's already in place.
